You can start using CHAI immediately for free during theĀ trial period. After the trial period we will contact you regarding payment and continued use. If a sponsor has purchased CHAI for your group then no further payment will be needed.
There is a wizard to help you to create a Group. Firstly, your will be guided to Join CHAI (or Sign-in if you have already joined), and then you will be taken to the setup wizard.
Step 1: Join CHAI
You will skip this step if you already have an account.
Otherwise just follow the instructions in the Create a Group link below and join as a new user. You just need a Google or Facebook account, or if you prefer an email address.
At this stage a record will have been created with your name on it (your own record in CHAI). You can use this to check out the features, but first you need to create your Group.
You will be automatically sent an email to enable us to verify your details. If you don’t receive it within a few minutes then please check your Spam or Junk folder. In this case move our email to your Inbox to help ensure you get future emails about CHAI. Follow the link in the email and your account is ready for you to create a Group.
Tip: Add CHAI to your bookmarks
After you’ve joined, remember to bookmark/pin CHAI Community so that it’s at your fingertips when you want to use it.
Find out how to do it here.
Tip: Fixing e-mail problems
If you don’t receive it within a few minutes then please check your Spam or Junk folder. In this case move our email to your Inbox to help ensure you get future emails about CHAI.

Step 2: Create a Group
The wizard will guide you through the following steps:
- Name your Group – you can’t change the name so think of something that will be meaningful if it grows.
- Create Teams within your Group – learn about the various management, privacy and security reasons for assigning your Users into Teams within CHAI here.
Step 3: Add Clients and Users
After setting up your Team(s) you are ready to assign Users and create Client record(s).
- Create records for some or all of your clients – just start with their name and phone number if you know it. Each record is pre-loaded with important questions to ask your clients when you have time. You can go through these questions over the phone or in person (obviously following any Covid-19 guidelines and laws that may be in force).
- Add Users and assign them to Teams – ask your Users to join CHAI and send you their verified email address when they have joined. You will then be able to find them by using the search function. You may want to assign some Users as Group Managers and some as Team Managers to help with organisation (depending on the size of your Group). Remember that Managers have wider access to client records and more control over Team membership than regular Users.
